In May of 2007, QVC upgraded all of its cameras to support the move to high-definition broadcasting. As one of the leading multimedia retailers in the world, we understood how important it was to be on the cutting edge of this new technology.

A national HD feed was made available to video distributors on April 30, 2008. QVC upconverted its standard-definition signal to a 1080i HD simulcast utilizing a 4x3 screen ratio.

Upconverting to 1080i HD allows QVC shoppers to really see what it is they're considering buying.
Utilizing a 4x3 screen ratio keeps our products prominent, while allowing us to use the sidebars to provide additional information to the customer, such as upsells, our return policy and product details.
